Facebook employees said on Friday that discussions were raging across the company regarding the merits of the post. Some called for executives to aggressively pursue action against those leaking to the media, said two Facebook employees, as well as for the company to do more to screen for potential whistle-blowers during the hiring process.

Alexa, cosa puoi sentire?

In one set of patent applications, Amazon describes how a “voice sniffer algorithm” could be used on an array of devices, like tablets and e-book readers, to analyze audio almost in real time when it hears words like “love,” bought” or “dislike.” A diagram included with the application illustrated how a phone call between two friends could result in one receiving an offer for the San Diego Zoo and the other seeing an ad for a Wine of the Month Club membership.

What the F*** Was Facebook Thinking?

Serve tradurre?

There’s a very good reason that Facebook is the fastest growing advertising business in the world. It’s because it has the largest, most detailed and most granular user data on the planet. It’s also incredibly personal, and will reveal a lot about your life to anyone who has access to it. And yet all the way up until April 2015, Facebook was giving all that data away to its developers that were using the Graph API.

Grindr Is Letting Other Companies See User HIV Status And Location Data

Facebook said Wednesday that “malicious actors” took advantage of search tools on its platform, making it possible for them to discover the identities and collect information on most of its 2 billion users worldwide.

The revelation came amid rising acknowledgement by Facebook about its struggles to control the data it gathers on users. Among the announcements Wednesday was that Cambridge Analytica, a political consultancy hired by President Trump and other Republicans, had improperly gathered detailed Facebook information on 87 million people, of whom 71 million were Americans.

Tangerine wasn’t just noted for its terrific casting or engaging story, it was a marvel of filmmaking. Baker and co-DP Radium Cheung shot the feature using multiple iPhone 5s and anamorphic adapters to get a look for the indie film that was never seen before. Given the size of the camera, they could get into tighter areas and achieve shots that would’ve been impossible with traditional camera gear. It wasn’t just because Baker wanted to shoot with an iPhone, it was because the budget of the film called for a unique solution. That budget restraint signified a grand change for filmmakers everywhere.

Mark Zuckerberg said on Tuesday that he agreed “in spirit” with a strict new European Union law on data privacy but stopped short of committing to it as the standard for the social network across the world.
